SEATTLE AND PORTLAND RESIDENTS ENJOY THEIR FIRST BITE OF GOODNESSKNOWS® SNACK SQUARES
Success in Colorado Spurs Expansion of Naturally Nutritious Snack
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 18, 2012) — Mars Chocolate North America announces the expansion of its popular goodnessknows® luscious snack squares into two new west coast markets – Seattle and Portland. First launched in Denver and Boulder in 2010, goodnessknows® quickly became a popular item in those markets because it answered consumer demand for a nutritious and wholesome snack option that fits into a healthy lifestyle.
"Denver and Boulder were the perfect choice for the introduction of our product. Colorado residents love the outdoors, are active, and care about the food they put into their bodies,” said Adam Adams, Director of Health and Wellness for Mars Chocolate North America. “After receiving such positive feedback there, we’re delighted to offer goodnessknows in Seattle and Portland, where people live similar lifestyles."
As part of the brand's debut in the Seattle and Portland areas, nearly 20,000 consumers had the chance to try their "First Bite" of goodnessknows during two popular food festivals, Bite of Seattle and Bite of Oregon. "The reaction was amazing – people really loved the bite-sized squares and appreciated the natural goodness the snack offers," said Portland based registered dietician known as "Healthy Grocery Girl" and goodnessknows® spokesperson Megan Roosevelt.
The wholesome snacks get their goodness from slow-roasted whole almonds, tangy fruits and toasted oats, and contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Each four-square serving is nestled in an extraordinary deep chocolate, which is made by using a special Mars Incorporated process developed to preserve the natural cocoa flavanols found in cocoa beans. All goodnessknows® varieties deliver 120 mg of cocoa flavanols per serving to help support the body’s healthy circulation of nutrients and oxygen.
Available in three delicious flavors – Very Cranberry, Nutty Apple and Peachy Cherry – each four-square serving of goodnessknows also has 150 calories, 2-3 grams of fiber, and 3 grams of protein.
"As a busy working mother, I'm always on-the-go and looking for nourishing and delicious snacks for myself and my family," said Seattle TV journalist and goodnessknows® spokesperson Jenni Hogan. "goodnessknows helps keep me energized and satisfied, and with 150 calories in a package, even my health conscious husband smiles when I reach for it."
