Nutrition Tips and Samples Available at Event; Brand to Donate Thousands of Wholesome Snacks to Local Food Bank

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (July 25, 2013) — goodnessknows®, a Mars Chocolate North America brand, announced a three-city summer tour today, featuring wholesome snacking and healthy lifestyle activities. The tour kicks off on Saturday, July 27 at Denver’s Larimer Square and will travel to other major cities where goodnessknows® snack squares are sold – Portland and Seattle. This summer’s tour is an extension of the brand’s focus on honest, wholesome snacking to help nourish and support all aspects of a good-for-you lifestyle.

Visitors to the “goodnessknows Wellness Lounge” at Larimer Square will have an opportunity to try the naturally nutritious snack, meet Denver-based registered dietitian Suzanne Farrell and contribute a photo to the brand’s Wall of Goodness. For every photo collected, goodnessknows® will make a wholesome snack donation to Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver, Colo. Families will also have a unique opportunity to learn about the ingredients found in goodnessknows through a chalk art mural drawn by local Denver artist, Randy Segura.

“Since its introduction in Colorado, goodnessknows® snack squares have become a consumer favorite in the Denver and Boulder areas,” said Melinda McLoughlin, Corporate Affairs Manager for Mars Chocolate North America. “Containing real, whole ingredients, goodnessknows® answers the demand for a naturally nutritious snack that fits into a healthy lifestyle.”

goodnessknows® Snack Squares Tour
goodnessknows® snacksquares contain slow-roasted whole almonds, tangy fruits, toasted oats, and have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Each four-square serving is nestled in an extraordinary deep chocolate, which is made by using a special Mars, Incorporated process developed to preserve the natural cocoa flavanols found in cocoa beans. All goodnessknows® varieties deliver 120 mg of cocoa flavanols per serving to help support the body’s healthy circulation of nutrients and oxygen.

Available in three delicious flavors – Very Cranberry, Nutty Apple and Peachy Cherry – each four-square serving of goodnessknows® has 150 calories, 2-3 grams of fiber, and 3 grams of protein.

“My clients are always searching for a nutritious wholesome snack option that fits into Denver’s active lifestyle and goodnessknows offers those benefits,” said registered dietitian and goodnessknows® spokesperson Suzanne Farrell. “Made with real nuts, fruits and oats with deep chocolate and at 150 calories for foursquares, they are a terrific snack option.”

goodnessknows® snack squares can be found at King Soopers and Safeway and are coming soon to Costco in the Denver and Boulder areas. Found in the granola or snack bar aisle, a single serving size (four squares) is available for a suggested retail price of $1.49 and a five-serving multipack carton is available for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
